E-Petition UPDATE: Our Children in Need (More so in England)

Across the UK there are 38 Children's Hospices with five more planned. These facilities provide a caring and comforting atmosphere for terminally ill children and their families.

Unbelievably, Hospices in England only receive an average of less than 5 per cent of their funding from the government.

The situation in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales is different. In Scotland for example, the Children’s Hospice Association Scotland last year received 18.5% of its income from statutory sources and is working towards its target of 25%.

This support is still well below what is required, but why aren't English Hospices receiving the same kind of funding?

For more information on Children's Hospices please click HERE.

Peter Brighouse has submitted the following E-Petition to No10:

We the undersigned petition the Prime Minister to organise government support and finance for the children's hospices.

To sign up to this E-Petition please click HERE.

Q. Should this most valuable service be fully funded by the Government?

Never looked in before I like this blog . I seem to share a lot of your concerns and views. I have recently done a couple of things on the English Nationalist case myself but I only have time for one considered piece a week .The rest of it is any old thing.

Yours is really impresssive and I love the "Panda Fur" gag

Thanks Newmania,

Praise from such a great Blogger is most appreciated.

I've often read and agreed with a lot of the comments you have left on other people's blogs.

I've added you to my Blogroll, so I should be popping over to your Blog more often.

Best Regards

Steve

The English media have been abysmal on reporting disparities like this, any critisism of the the staus quo and you are accused of whipping up English Nationalism.
Is there not one English journalist out there with the guts to have a go at them?

Hotspur,

You are correct, stories like this just don't seem to interest the media. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to interest the public either. 1.8 million people will sign a petition to stop road charges that may hit them in the pocket. However terminally ill children do not seem to raise the same kind of outrage.

Thanks for the link and your support.

Best Regards
