Protest - Free the Navy 15!


Free the Navy 15 is a group of private individuals campaigning for the release of the 15 Royal Navy sailors and Royal Marines kidnapped at gunpoint by Iranian forces on 23rd March.

The group held their first protest outside the Embassy. From 3pm til 4.15pm there was a good showing, with placards, chanting and loads of support from passing cars "Honking for the Hostages".

The next protest will be:6.45pm, Wednesday 4th April.

With great respect, I'm all for this but what effect will it have on the Iranians, DR? It certainly won't on the UK government.

You are correct that it may not have any effect on the government or the Iranians. However it will have an effect on the citizens of this country. Just maybe our servicemen and women will start to receive the same respect that American citizens give to theirs so freely.

That's an interesting remark you made. Sounds as though members of the armed services don't get a whole lot of respect all around.

You gave me pause and I realized that their are quite a few in the U.S. that do support and respect them.

When I visited the US with the RN I was treated like an American hero. It's depressing to come home to be treated like second class citizens.
