BBC Are Fined £50,000 - Blue Peter Viewers Are To Pay

Blue Peter OFCOM have fined the BBC £50,000 for the dodgy Blue Peter competition phone in. Due to a technical problem the Blue Peter team were unable to select a winner so they got a visitor to fake the winning phone call. However a BBC spokeswoman has confirmed that the fine will be paid out of the licence fee. What is the point of OFCOM fining the BBC if we the viewers are going to pay it?

The fine should come out of the executives annual bonus scheme, I'm sure there is more than enough money in it to cover the fine.
