Gordon Brown hides a £6m Spad bill under the data loss carpet.

The Sun are claiming that Gordon Brown has spent a record £6m on spin doctors and ministerial aides for the period 2006/7. Brown announced the massive bill in a written statement. The Conservatives believe the PM is using taxpayers’ money to draft in his “cronies”, some of which are pocketing £137,400 each. This news has been announced three months late and questions are being asked as to whether Labour are hiding bad news under the data loss fiasco.

Shadow cabinet office minister Francis Maude said “Gordon Brown promised a new type of politics, but spin is alive and well in Whitehall.”

It is becoming media sport to look for Labour's hidden news. It is always there to be found.
