Breaking news: Harriet Harman 7/1 to replace Gordon Brown.

Harriet Harman Over the last couple of days there has been a great deal of rumour surrounding Harriet Harman replacing Gordon Brown. Adding to this William Hill have just slashed Harriet's odds to 7/1 (3rd favourite) to become the next permanent leader of the Labour party. Please God don't let it be true. To add to the rumours, Iain Dale has reported that Harriet has been seen having a cosy lunch for two with Jack Straw. David Miliband remains the favourite (7/2) to replace the bumbling Brown and Jack Straw is hanging in as the 6/1 second favourite.

Ladbrokes are a bit slow on the uptake and still have Harriet at 16/1 - could be worth a flutter?

JJ,

Unbelievable isn't it?

The appointment of Harriet Harman as Prime Minister is certainly one way of curbing an increasing population.

It's terrifying.

It won't happen.

I find myself agreeing with William. You don't plot for a job for eleven years, as Gordon did, to give it up after 14 months and entrust it to some second-rate feminist harpie. That said, it would be an even bigger disaster for Labour. Can you imagine how much the male vote wound swing behind the Tories?
