Some members of the Cabinet seem to be making a move on Brown tonight, it looks like this could be the beginning of the end for Gordon. I'm going to update this post as the situation develops:
From SKY : A group of Blairite Cabinet ministers have launched what is being seen as a thinly-veiled attack on the Prime Minister.
From the Spectator Coffee house: Miliband makes progress.
From the Telegraph: Gordon Brown given nine months to save his job by Cabinet loyalists (note. this is the loyalists saying this, not those already moving against him)
From the Evening Standard: Miliband's first Cabinet. David "I don't want a leadership contest, but I've chosen my Cabinet just in case" Miliband.

steve,
Lets face it gordon brown is living in an ever delusional fantasy land. The labour party need to get rid asap and move on, not that it will save them in the next election which hopefully will come sooner than later.
May is long past and nine months almost takes us to the latter half of 2009, which is not so very far away from May 2010. This seems to me to be, as I predicted six months ago, the Labour Party laying its collective hand on The Tartan McReich's Führer's shoulder.
I can't wait to hear Brown's painful, clunky conference speech. Unless it is the best speech of his life, Labour will see that he is worthless.
This is actually brilliant. The one thing we didn't want was a Labour Conference where they got to feign unity and togetherness. If anything, it just seems to provide them with a more public stage on which they can slit their own throats.
The benchmark of "best speech of Brown's life" isn't necessarily raising the bar much though is it?
Saw Newsnight for the first time again in two years. A real eye opener. How have the mighty fallen ... sad, and soooo depressed ...!
