45p tax - get ready for a mass exodus of high earners.

Apparently Nick Robinson has it on good authority that Gordon Brown (via Alistair Darling) is going to bring in a new higher tax rate of 45p for those earning over £150,000 (after the election of course). What a complete and utter tw*t. I'm not calling him a tw*t because I earn that much - I don't. I'm calling him a tw*t because if he pushes through this idiotic policy, we will see the biggest brain drain this country has ever experienced. Not only that, but those that stay to pay the higher tax won't even make a dent in our massive national debt.

What I want to know is how does Nick Robinson know about this? How do we all know about tomorrows planned VAT cut? These leaks need to be stopped.

Remember Brown's promise to make all announcements in the House? Ah, but that was back in the days when he was still pretending to have a moral compass and respect for Parliament, not like Blair. At all.
Did you hear him coyly refusing to say anything substantive today, despite there being full coverage of the PBR on exactly the same lines from every paper and broadcasting channel? But of course the unanimity of content could be pure coincidence.
If you're ever down my way, Gord, do pop in and I'll introduce you to the fairies at the bottom of my garden. Mind the rakes I will have hidden in the grass, though, won't you?

Why not have a 98% income tax rate for Jonathan Ross? It wouldn't bring in much money but the country would be cheered up. And who are these £150k plus earners other than mainly investment bankers, footballers, J K Rowling and Directors of Social Services?

Leaks happen all the time these days. With the number of advisors, press officers and civil servants that have to work on these documents, it's no wonder that words gets out all the time.

That said, I'm sure many high-earners were already planning to leave the UK!

I'm not a high earner, but I can't wait to get out of this shithole.
