HOME SECRETARY, JACQUI SMITH IS odds-on to be out of her job before the end of the year say bookmakers William Hill who offer 1/2 that Ms Smith departs by then.It also looks as if her constituents have had enough of her too.
'Our punters are convinced that the controversy-prone Ms Smith is for the chop by the end of the year and we have taken virtually no bets for her still to be in her current role on January 1, 2010' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills offer 6/4 that Smith will still be Home Sec on Jan 1 2010.

Couldn't Mr Timney (no relation) claim £10 expenses for turf accountancy services at her second home to shift the odds slightly in her favour?
I don't understand betting odds; but the news itself is encouraging — though I'd have preferred "by the end of the month" to get her out of office(!)
This, Steve, is excellent news. But the end of the year?!! Why on earth wait??!!
Sure has me puzzled...
How disappointing - I was really rather hoping they'd all be out of a job by the end of next month.
