My MP Peter Viggers is to step down over expenses.

Oh dear. My MP Peter Viggers has been getting creative with his expense claims. Apparently he has claimed £20,000 on gardening expenses and £1,645 for a duck island.

A duck island? You couldn't make it up.

If this is true then I'm more than glad that David Cameron told Sir Peter he faced the removal of the whip if he did not announce that he would not run again at the next election.

A duck island? Jesus.

No doubt Sir Peter could not discharge his Parliamentary duties without it...

I am afraid he should have the whip removed even though he has agreed to step down.

I think you are probably right Tony.

A duck island??

There's only one suitable response to that, if it's true: he should be told to swan off…

Seems to me that the whip should have been shoved where the the sun don't shine.

Troughing pig!

Southampton Football Club much despised ex-chairman Rupert Lowe once famously expressed his love of duck-shooting.

Unfortunately even a massive banner unfurled across a section of the crowd reading "Duck Off Lowe" failed to ram the message home. I think many of our MPs are similarly so thick skinned they can not see they have done anything wrong

Presumably a duck island is a duck-only retreat somewhere in the Caribbean where they can relax during the cold winter months.

LFAT,

It's somewhere near the Canaries I think.

Money Money Money

They lie all night and cheat all day, their claims all in and then we pay
Ain't it bad
And still it just appears to be, they're all corrupt, no honesty
Makes us mad
To take it all, that is their plan
To pile it up,the perfect scam
Expenses paid, no claim too small, they spin around and catch us all...

Money, money, money
Must be lovely
In an MP's world
Money, money, money
Con the country
In an MP's world
Aha-ahaaa
All the things they can screw
Just to claim the public's money
In an MP's world

They list it all, for where they stay, a second home - someone must pay
Ain't it bad
They say they claim by the rules, they do not care 'cos were all fools
Makes us mad
So they must leave, they have to know
We've had enough, they'll have to go
They've made a fortune in a game, but life will never be the same...

Money, money, money
Must be lovely
In an MP's world
Money, money, money
Con the country
In an MP's world
Aha-ahaaa
All the things they can screw
Just to trough the public's money
In an MP's world

Money, money, money
Must be lovely
In an MP's world
Money, money, money
Con the country
In an MP's world
Aha-ahaaa
All the things they can screw
Just to claim the public's money
In an MP's world

In an MP's world

Andrew,

I wouldn't have the first clue how to go about it. I'm too busy to do anything more than deliver leaflets every few weeks.
