Eric Pickles reviewed the papers this morning on the Andrew Marr show. Eric should be the face of Conservatism more often. He is definitely the star Tory of the moment, always seeming to have his finger on the pulse and with a good feel for public mood. As to Prescott's pilot analogy, I'm sure we'd all love to be in the plane when the captain comes on the tannoy and announces "No panic, we're in danger of crashing but I'm the best qualified person on here to get us through"
