Jack Straw is actively considering a ban on Prison Officer Strikes.

I understand that the Prison officers are up in arms again. Jack Straw has told them he is actively considering going back to court to make it permanently illegal for them to go on strike. The Prison Officers Association (POA) are calling for urgent meetings with the Ministry of Justice.

The leader of the Prison Officers Association, Colin Moses, said: "This is a disgraceful act by a Labour government who promised to remove anti-trade union legislation whilst in opposition. Yet now they are looking to re-introduce legislation that will criminalise POA members for trying to exercise their human rights as workers. We will not allow a Labour government to use the courts to resolve its problems."
