The donargate scandal extends into new territory tonight. The Daily Mail have a report into donations of £830,000 in the past eight months received by Labour, from Iranian-born car dealer Mahmoud Khayami. His first donation of £500,000 was made the day after he qualified to donate. Questions are being asked as to whether Mr Khayami had any help getting onto the electoral roll.
A Labour spokesman said: "As far as we know, this donation is in order. But of course we will look into all these issues as part of our ongoing internal inquiry." Tory Chris Grayling said: "It is now very clear Gordon Brown had ordered a 'dash for cash' ahead of an early Election."
