Someone has very kindly donated £36,000 to the Labour party in the name of Newcastle property lawyer George Crawford. The only problem is that poor Mr Crawford knows absolutely nothing about it. It seems that the donation was made using a FALSE ADDRESS, an address that closely matches Mr Crawford's office address - In fact, it's just one digit out. The donation listed in the Labour party's official records was made in 2004, and Mr Crawford has called in the police to investigate the theft of his identity.
On a totally separate note (that I'm sure has nothing to do with this), it turns out that several years ago George Crawford worked for David Abrahams, who was then using the alias David Martin.
