US Presidential Elections: Ohio and the Texas primary scramble.

I didn't think that I would be so disappointed about Hillary Clinton winning the Ohio and Texas primaries. It's not that I support Barack Obama, I just don't like Hillary very much. It's not her policies or they way she has run her campaign, it's the fact that she is willing to sell her dignity for power. Any woman discovering that her husband had done what Bill had done would drop him like a bad habit - especially if the alleged infidelity was splashed across the media for all the world to see. But no, Hillary has stuck by her man, power and greed will make some people behave in the strangest way.

Clinton still trails Obama with 1,391 delegates to his 1,477 but the way she was celebrating this morning you would think that she had the Democrat nomination sewn up. She may have a point, Ohio has picked the winning presidential nominee in recent history. Last night Hillary said:

"You know what they say - as Ohio goes, so goes the nation. Well, this nation's coming back and so is this campaign."
Barack on the other hand pointed out:

"No matter what happens tonight, we have nearly the same delegate lead as we did this morning, and we are on our way to winning this nomination."
So it is still all to play for. The fact that neither candidate can now secure a large enough share of the delegates to gain automatic selection means it could to be a political decision at the Democrat convention in August. It is more than likely to be the "super delegates", not the people who will decide who is to be the Democrat fighting the election against John McCain.

Yes that's right - John McCain, he is now the official Republican Candidate. McCain secured an easy victory last night and his nearest rival Mike Huckabee acknowledge that his campaign was over.

Next stop: Wyoming on the 8th of March, followed by Mississippi on the 11th.

UPDATE 6th March: Obama could still win Texas. I'll let you know the result when it comes in.

Pennsylvania and North Carolina will go a long way to deciding the contest going into the final convention. A big win for Obama in either state could still finish off Hillary, but we shall have to wait and see whether Hillary's dirty campaigning continues.

I reckon it will just be ugly from here on in. The only way that Billary can win is to exploit all fears and muscle super delegates into line. Entertaining in a way. Even if she doesn't win, she is going to drag everyone down with her.

LFAT,

I think she will do almost anything to win.

Colin,

No doubt McCain is counting on just that. Hillary is their prefered oponent.
