Don't let Gordon Brown see this morning's papers.

Note to those in No10: Don't let Gordon Brown see this morning's papers. If he is as close to the edge as some suggest, then he needs to be shielded from today's torrent of bad news.

There's Hazel Blears with her: "Promote your message via YouTube if you want to." attack. What I think is really interesting about this story is that even The Mirror are running it as an attack on Gordon. Labour know it's bad when The Mirror are sticking the boot in.

Following up on his previous "I'm ashamed to be a Labour MP" statement, Charles Clarke is now asking for the heads of all those involved in the Smeargate scandal: "Damian McBride was not a lone gun in the politics of 10 Downing Street. "He was part of a poisonous team." Clarke is calling for a complete clear-out of all ministers and "noxious apparatchiks" involved.

Labour peer Baroness Uddin is accused of claiming an estimated £100,000 for an empty flat.

An unnamed Labour MP is said to have claimed the cost of building a sauna on his second home allowance. Nice.

Kate Hoey: I would not be devastated if the Conservatives won the election.

Also on the Andrew Marr show this morning, Ken Livingstone said Alan Johnson could "probably do better" at the next election than Brown.

Not a good day for Gordon.
