Conservatives - You've got to have soul, says Michael Ancram

Ex-deputy leader Michael Ancram says we conservatives should: "begin to unveil the party's soul based on those core values, principles and beliefs that form the timeless make-up of that Conservative soul." On tax incentives for marriage, he claims the policy of treating same-sex civil partnerships equally "insults the intelligence of the British people". Wake up Michael, it's 2007! not 1907!

Seeing as he stepped down from the front bench following Mr Cameron's election as leader in 2005, I think we can assume that there is no love lost between them. Labour are using every opportunity to throw the public off the real issues being discussed by asking which way the conservatives are swinging (see previous post).

We can do without infighting and members of our own party doing Labours work for them.

Just who are you referring to? Is it Ancram. or Cameron who is doing NuLabour's work for them? Personally I think the socialist here is Cameron. The slide of British society and politics to the statist Left is very worrying. We no longer can dissent from the united statist political ruling elite party co-operative union. There is no longer anywhere to go. All of them want the people kept out of politics, and the politicos to be left to themselves to loot the public treasury as they please.
