Some get tough tips for David Cameron.

According to the BBC David Cameron has hit out at labour over the crisis at Northern Rock. Yes he has, but he is hitting well below a senior politician's weight. Here is what David had to say, followed by what he should have said:

"Under Labour our economic growth has been built on a mountain of debt."

"Under Gordon Brown's inept financial guidance our economic growth has been built on a crumbling mountain of debt."

"For all its past talk of prudence, the government has been on a spending and borrowing spree of gigantic proportions."

"For all his past talk of prudence, Gordon Brown has been on a out-of-control spending and borrowing roller coaster ride of gigantic proportions."

"An economy built on debt puts economic stability at risk."

"An economy built on uncontrolled debt means that Gordon Brown is putting economic stability and the livelihood of every citizen at risk."

"It is not enough for the chancellor simply to talk about common sense in banking."

"It is not enough for the so called chancellor simply to drone on about common sense in banking."

Gordon Brown has taken the gloves off. Let's make it a fair fight and get ours off.
