A message from David Cameron: Our country needs a change of course

I've just been out on my first ever canvassing session and I loved it. I can't believe how many people were willing to talk about both local and national politics. I've been left feeling a lot more positive about winning in May (if I do get selected as the Conservative Candidate) and I can't wait to get out there and do it all again. Anyway, talking about national politics, here is David Cameron with a great message for the future:

Shame you're not standing in my area Steve, I'd vote for you.

Glad you enjoyed going door to door - What issues were most raised? I would guess Expenses and the Economy?

"Our country"? Does he mean Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland or the UK regions? And just what change is the guy offering? Certainly nothing good for England. Even the regional quangos seem set to stay.

Daniel, thanks for the vote of confidence. We talked about local issues mostly. Nationally there was a lot of talk about getting rid of Brown, immigration, the state of the Hospitals. Nearly everyone you meet seems to have a horror story about the Hospitals.

Chris,

What can Cameron offer England? Well I'd say a far better future than we would have with five more years of Brown.

I wish I could be convinced, Steve, I really do. But Cameron is another anti-England louse, and his policies seem to echo Labour's more and more. I mean, whatever happened to abolishing regional assemblies? Whatever happened to a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty? It strikes me that if I DID vote Tory, I'd simply be voting for the (slightly) lesser of two evils. I really do want a Government that recognises England exists.

Chris,

Let's not mess about. If Brown gets in we will go further into the EU and England will disappear altogether. If Cameron gets in he will halt further integration and he does believe in a fairer deal for England. You may not believe what I'm saying about Cameron, but you know that I am 100% right about Brown. And that is why we must do everything we can to get rid of him. Even if for some it is giving Cameron a chance.

I must disagree with you, every political party are run by the Eussr, and there will be no change what so ever.

Good luck with the canvassing Steve (though you know my views on Cameron et al) I've just started as well, and the issues you mention have been brought up with me as well. Despite the initial trepidation I'm pleasantly surprised by how polite most people are even if they have no intention of voting for you.

TBF,

Good luck mate. I hope you are enjoying it as much as I am. I think I've got the bug. Where are you standing? Do you fancy your chances? I'm feeling about fifty/fifty at the moment, but I'm sure I've got a good chance if I put the work in

Steve

I'm standing as the UKIP PPC in Oxford West. As regarding my chances, I would very pleased if I got my deposit back, but you never know I might wing it, highly unlikely though.

It's the first time I've ever stood, and there was the fear of the unknown a bit to start with.

But what comes across more than anything is that people are very interested in politics especially in local issues, which seems at odds with the low turnouts that politicians get worked up about. Perhaps there's a message in there somewhere

TBF,

Well you know my feelings about voting UKIP, but you are doing what you believe in and putting your money where your mouth is.

Good luck.

I greatly admire your loyalty Steve, I really do... and I'd vote for you without hesitation, if you stood in my area... but I still can't help feeling that I am being given the choice of either being fcuked with, or without, the lube.

H, good analogy, I know which I would choose.

H, p.s You are very kind.

Boiling Frog... as long as you don't have the charisma of a damp rag and the appearance of a low-grade bank clerk... I predict great times ahead.

Steve, does that mean you'll be claiming K-Y on your expenses? ;o)

Thanks Steve, good luck to you as well

H,

Lard! I'm a Yorkshireman.

Oh yes, Steve, I do know that you are 100% right about Brown!

Although I'm not convinced about Cameron.

Anyway, I've been reading "Daily Referendum" for some time now, and I think you have integrity, so good luck!

Thanks Chris,

I hope if I win that I'm not disappointed with the honesty of the system. I'd like to think that there are some good guys in there.
