While the Conservative conference is taking place, I'm opening up my blog to any reader who has a point to make that is too long for a comment. Just Email me your post and I'll publish it with all credits going to you of course. You can find my Email by clicking on "view my complete profile" it's on the right near the top of the page. It doesn't have to be an essay, a couple of paragraphs will be enough, but feel free to write more. Be warned readers switch off after about five paragraphs, or sometimes they won't bother reading at all if it looks too long. (It might even drag some of you very good but resting bloggers back into the fray -Mr gruff)

Actually, I've just returned from three nights' camping in the lakes. Sunday night was best: the idiots had gone home and only a handful of quiet couples were left.
