Chipmunk cancels nuts giveaway - Doughnuts that is.

Hazel Blears has U-turned on a raft of gimmicks aimed at "empowering" communities. The most striking (and disappointing for many a fat, work dodging, Labour voter) is the cancellation of a free doughnut when you cast your vote in an election. It says a lot about what this government think of us if they think we will vote for doughnuts. Sadly it also says a lot about this country that some people would vote for doughnuts. But I suppose they have been doing just that for the last three General Elections.

Hazel Blears - I won't quit.

I've just seen Hazel Blears caught on the hop by the press. She said she had no intention of quitting and that she had the full confidence of Gordon Brown. This is while one of her constituents was shouting that she was a cheat and a swindler.

Hazel may be kidding herself, but she's not kidding anyone else. When the PM says your behaviour is "totally unacceptable" then your days are numbered. I've no doubt that Hazel is paying the price for criticising Brown last week. Other Ministers have been just as dishonest, but it seems that Brown is throwing Hazel to the wolves.

Hazel Blears - Our next Labour leader?

Hazel Blears has just thrown her hat into the ring. She's had a go at Gordon Brown in an interview for the Observer:

"YouTube if you want to, but it is no substitute for knocking on doors or setting up a stall in the town centre. "We need to have a relationship with the voters based on shared instincts and emotions. "We need to start showing we understand the instincts, fears, hopes and emotions of the broad mass of British people."

On the Gurkha fiasco Hazel said the government was: "on the wrong side of the British sense of fair play, and no party can stay there for long without dire consequences".

"Labour ministers have a collective responsibility for the government's lamentable failure to get our message across. "Whatever the problems of the recession, the answer is not more government documents or big speeches."

If that is not one big dig a Gordon Brown, then I don't know what is. And she does seem to be telling us how she would do things better.

More BBC bias - Go Gordon!, but where's Hazel?

Obama hails special relationship! - Well, that's what the BBC headlines says. It's funny but that isn't how it reads in the press, especially from those who have accompanied Brown to Washington. It sounds more like: "The President will see you now" (but make it quick). Oh, and Prescott has come to the rescue (do'h!).

Further bias comes in the form of the BBC's new 'Where's Hazel?' competition. The idea is that they report on some damning news about the Department for Communities and Local Government (DCLG), and then leave you to work out 'Where's Hazel?' (She is not mentioned once).

UPDATE: Hazel's name has suddenly appeared in the story.

David Cameron - Promises the people an EU Treaty Referendum

David Cameron has done today what Gordon Brown and the Labour party have failed to do this week at their conference. He has promised to keep democracy alive in the UK.

In a signed letter to The Sun, David made the following commitment:

"Today, I will give this cast-iron guarantee: If I become PM a Conservative government will hold a referendum on any EU treaty that emerges from these negotiations."

This is a short extract of the letter:

On Monday The Sun’s image of Gordon Brown sticking two fingers up to the British public was provocative. But it was right. What a difference to Churchill. When he made that salute, it inspired this country to wipe the scourge of fascism from Europe. But for Gordon Brown, it’s a gesture to the British people saying: “I know best. Your views are irrelevant. Get used to it.”

Hazel Blears on Boris Johnson

Hazel Blears must not have received Gordon Brown's order not to attack the opposition. She did not mention names, but I think it's quite obvious who she is talking about:

"Because the last thing a modern, diverse, international-class capital like London needs is a fogeyish, bigoted and upper-class twit for its mayor. "

Perhaps Hazel prefers a fogeyish, bigoted, and communist twit for mayor instead?

Hazel Blears - Another Freedom of Information (exemption) Bill Traitor

I've been a bit of a fan of Hazel Blears ever since she stood up for her local Maternity Hospital. I did say "been" didn't I? Hazel's performance this morning on Andrew Marr's Sunday AM show was very poor to say the least. Every question that Andrew put to the little chipmunk was dodged, requiring him to repeat questions in the Paxman style. Most importantly, Hazel tried to dodge the question when asked how she would have voted, had she turned up for the Freedom of Information (Exemption) Bill. Andrew concluded from the garbled reply he received on his third attempt to get a clear answer from Ms Blears, that she was in favour of the Bill.

I think Hazel may have just lost quite a bit of public support. Another greedy self serving MP.

Hazel Blears for Deputy PM

Labour Party Chairman Hazel Blears has thrown her hat into the ring for the position of Deputy Prime Minister. I will not be voting Labour in the next Election but if I were so inclined I would like to see Hazel Blears as the Labour Party Leader not the Deputy. I was impressed with the way she went against Party Policy by campaigning to stop maternity ward closures in her Salford constituency. That is true Democracy - representing the people who voted for you, instead of towing the party line like the rest of the muppets.

Even though I will not be voting for Hazel's party in the next Election, I wish her good luck.

Hazel Blears - NHS Maternity

There are those who are calling for Hazel Blears to resign. WHY, all this woman is doing is representing her constituency. Following party policy blindly and ignoring the people who voted for you is as far from democratic as you can get. It takes guts to rebel against your party in favour of your constituency, I for one would like my MP to represent me in the way we all voted for and deserve. Ms Blears has been of accused of hypocrisy for being a member of the cabinet that formulated the policy she is now opposing, however we know that not all cabinet members agree to every policy they churn out. Ms Blears could have opposed the policy in cabinet just as she is now, how does that make her a hypocrite? I don't want an MP who blindly tows the party line, I want an MP who will put the welfare of their constituents first and foremost.

Please lets stop the dirty tricks (just because you support an opposing party) and not smear someone who is doing the job she was democratically elected to do.
